GBC Fundraisers

The GBC holds several fund raisers throughout the year to help team families raise money to help offset costs associated with competitive gymnasts.  Each fund raiser has a chair person who coordinates the fund raiser and distributes fees back to the participating families.  Previous fund raisers have included wreath sales, gift-wrapping, Mismo hosted meets and fireworks.  The firework stand has not been operative for the past couple of years due to lack of leadership and lack of optimal location.  The GBC is looking for someone to take over this fund raiser as it is a great way to earn income.  We always welcome any comments and suggestions!


Volunteer Information


 

Wreath Duties:

  • Work with Wreath Supplier to Coordinate Prices, Timeline and General Information
  • Create Order Forms and Distribute to Team Families
  • Collect Orders and Payment
  • Send Orders & Payments to Christa

Gift Wrap Volunteers:

  • Contact Southgate Mall About Operating Booth
  • Order Supplies
  • Set-up Gift-Wrapping Station in Southgate Mall
  • Coordinate Shift Workers Based on Date From Previous Years
  • Deposit Funds Daily into GBC Account
  • Take-down and Store Gift Wrap Station Items

GRIZ Men’s Basketball Door Stations:

  • Attend Training at Adams Center
  • Schedule 3 Volunteers Per Home Game
  • Attend Start of Games to Train New Volunteers

Mismo Magical Meet: 

  • Set-up crew
  • Advertisement Sales for Meet Program
  • Floor Manager
  • 2 - 3 Volunteers to Work the Door for Each Session
  • Concessions – 2 to 3 Volunteers Per Session
  • Raffle Baskets:  Creating Baskets and Running Sales for Each Session
  • 2  Volunteers on Each of the Four Apparatus
  • Score Runners
  • Hospitality Suite Manager
  • T-shirt Orders and Sales
  • Announcing Events and Awards
  • 2 – 3 Volunteers to Hand Out Awards for Each Session
  • Tear-down Crew

Fireworks Stand:

  • Secure Suitable Location for Stand Following Set Guidelines
  • Work with Distributor to Order  and Pick-up Supplies
  • Coordinate Volunteer Efforts to Set-Up and Take-Down the Stand
  • Coordinate Volunteer Efforts to Man the Stand
  • Inventory Supplies and Return Any Unopened Items to Distributor
 
 
 
These are just some of the volunteer positions needed during the year.  As you can see, many people are needed to fill those positions.  We look forward to seeing you all volunteer, often!

Mismo Magical Meet

Each year Mismo hosts the Mismo Magical Meet (MMM) for both boy and girl gymnasts.  This is a huge money maker for the GBC and thus every family is expected to help with the meet.  The GBC earns funds through the entrance fees, concession and raffle/auction sales.  Most of the funds are then applied toward competition fees the following season.  A small portion of those funds are kept to cover administrative costs of the GBC.  Each year the meet has grown larger and so have the profits!  However, it takes a lot of volunteers to run a successful meet.  Therefore, each family is expected to participate in the following:
 
  • Set-up OR tear-down for Mismo Magical Meet
  • Donate Items to Hospitality Suite, Concessions or Raffle Basket for Mismo Magical Meet
Volunteer to work at least one session during the Mismo Magical Meet
